About זמני יוסף

We are the platform to use whenever and wherever you'd need Halachic Times (Zemanim) according to the Sepharadic tradition, as represented by Hakham Ovadia Yosef zt'l and his sons (R’ Yitzḥak Yosef & R’ David Yosef). Our reach extends to mobile applications, websites, shul screens, and more – anywhere to accompany your Halachic needs, as you perform any time-bound commandment.

Spread around their Sefarim are individual rulings for times when relevant to their commandments (such as Ḥazon ‘Ovadia, Yalkut Yosef & Halacha Berura) & halachic responsa’s (Yabi’a ‘Omer & Yeḥave Da’ath). However, the guidelines for reading the various Talmudical sources are outlined explicitly in Halikhoth ‘Olam, representing the tradition of using seasonal minutes across all earlier Sepharadic authorities (Minḥat Kohen & Peri Ḥadash). The application of these rulings is exemplified in the Ohr Ha’Chaim calendar (developed by Rabbi Shlomo Benizri & Rabbi Asher Darshan, with a continuous consultation of Hakham Ovadia himself). This calendar has garnered the approval of Hakham Ovadia (pictured on the left) and consistent recommendations from HaRav Yitzḥak Yosef, proving to be a reliable source of practical Zemanim that reflects the precedent set by our authorities.

Our foundation starts with that calendar, expanding beyond its borders of Eretz Yisrael. Doing so with astronomical accuracy meant re-examining the rulings from their sources and adjusting the numbers (for the seasonal minutes) as they are applied. This specification is explicitly outlined by R' David Yosef (in Kuntress Ki Ba Ha'Shemesh), with approval in the execution by R' Yitzḥak Yosef.
